W. Bruce Larsen “the best operations manager in our company”… Joe Lemieux, Chairman and CEO Emeritus, O-I, Inc.—2002 Bruce started The Milkit Group in 2013 after serving as the Chairman and CEO of Nextronex, Inc., a start-up company delivering state of the art inverter systems to the Solar Industry. During his time at Nextronex he successfully navigated the company through numerous challenges including technology development, establishing lean manufacturing, supply chain negotiations, capital fund raising, and team building. Increasing sales revenue nearly one thousand percent during his tenure the company was recognized as one of the most successful venture capital start-ups in Northwest Ohio. Prior to Nextronex Bruce managed W. Bruce Larsen Ltd, LLC acting as President and consultant to various packaging companies and private equity firms. During this time he participated in due diligence activities related to potential acquisitions, operational improvements, and supply chain optimization. The highlight of Bruce’s career was his 25 year tenure with O-I, Inc. Appointed President of O-I’s $1.4 billion plastic packaging business he was responsible for 31 global manufacturing facilities with over 5,000 full time employees. His career included 13 promotions from manufacturing trainee to President while living in five different cities throughout the U.S. Known as a tough but fair leader his operational accomplishments consistently included significant improvements in sales, profit, quality, and technology. Of note is that he distinguished himself during the time KKR owned a controlling share of O-I and recognized those leaders who created value in a lean LBO environment. He is the inventor of six 6 U.S. Patents. In 2004 Bruce was the leader of the O-I Plastic Container management team responsible for divesting a portion of the business to a strategic buyer. His leadership in preparing the business for this $1.2 billion transaction significantly increased the enterprise value for the company. Prior to O-I Bruce served in the military as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer. Achieving the rank of Captain his qualifications included Airborne, Ranger, and Special Forces training. As a Green Beret he commanded an elite HALO Special Forces team for the 7th Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg, N.C. His educational experiences include graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a B.B.A. Awarded a full four year college scholarship from the U.S. Army he was recognized as a Distinguished Military Student and received the Jack Crocker Award for the outstanding graduate assigned to a combat arms branch. He continued his learning through a variety of executive education programs at Harvard, Stanford, Purdue, and The University of Michigan.
